Allie Spann always had a creative passion for baking. Growing up she loved to make her grandpa's "famous" butter cookies and served them to her family. Over the years she learned more about the craft from the women in her family, especially watching her mom decorate her and her siblings birthday cakes each year. When her first child was born in 2012 she new it was only right to continue on the the tradition of baking her children's birthday cakes each year. After taking a few baking classes she was not only baking her children's birthday cakes, but was also receiving requests to bake cupcakes for birthday's, baby showers, engagement parties, bridal showers and more. After several entrepreneurial attempts in various fields she knew it was time to officially begin a business doing what she had already been doing all along... baking cupcakes. The Iowa Cupcakery was born!
